(HealthNewsDigest.com) - Marina del Rey – Marina Plastic Surgery has added a technology usually reserved for Hollywood movies with the addition of a new VECTRA 3D Imaging unit just in time for the typical New Year’s rush for plastic surgery. More than three million Americans each year undergo some type of cosmetic surgery from nose reshaping, to liposuction, to breast reductions and breast enlargements.
The compact, portable table top design offers a 3D solution for popular procedures such as breast and facial surgeries, and even non-surgical treatments such as injectables, laser treatments, resurfacing and facial contouring can be previewed. Powerful visualization and simulation tools add a new dimension to aesthetic consultations, allowing doctors to clearly communicate the patient’s condition and treatment options.
“VECTRA 3D imaging is an advanced imaging technique that allows my patients to preview the results of a specific plastic surgery procedure before surgery is performed,” said Grant Stevens, MD, FACS, founder of Marina Plastic Surgery. “This raises patient consultations to a whole new level. Our clients can feel comfortable that their desires are being heard accurately as this revolutionary system allows the patient to see before and after models before surgery.”
Dr. Stevens said that this is particularly important in breast implant surgery. “Clear expectations are achieved using a 3D image of the patient's body and 3D models of saline and gel implants. Accurate measurements of the breasts are recorded, which helps both patient and surgeon choose the appropriate size implant,” Dr. Stevens added.
Historically, the biggest obstacle for cosmetic surgery patients was the inability to understand and visualize their results, so now, with the help of VECTRA 3D imaging patients go in to surgery with realistic expectations and come out more satisfied. The VECTRA 3D technology grew out of the surgeon’s need to educate the cosmetic surgery patient better about procedures and prepare them for the change following surgery. “These images allow the client to visualize how they might look following an elective procedure,” says Stevens. “Now seeing is truly believing with cosmetic surgery.”
