(HealthNewsDigest.com) - Sometimes, regular exercise and strict diets just aren't enough to get rid of those final few bulges that linger around your abdomen, causing you to sigh each time you look in the mirror. As a result, a number of patients in the past have opted for liposuction, in order to achieve the body of their dreams. However, invasive surgical procedures are not ideal for every candidate, and advancements in technology have begun to deliver innovative new ways of removing stubborn fat without the scalpel.

With coolsculpting, expert surgeons such as Dr. Ran Rubinstein can offer patients dramatic results without the downtime or discomfort associated with more invasive surgical procedure. Dr. Rubinstein is a dual-board certified surgeon who offers plastic surgery solutions within New York. His amazing level of experience in various different fields allow him the unique understanding and expertise to provide truly beautiful, natural results.

How coolsculpting works

Designed and created by a leading company in aesthetic development, ZELTIQ aesthetics, the coolsculpting process can help to eliminate stubborn areas of fat that are difficult to combat through exercise and diet alone.

The FDA-approved treatment uses a revolutionary technology known as cryolipolysis, which basically translates to fat destruction induced by cold. This process cools fat cells down to a temperature that causes them to be destroyed, allowing your body to naturally excrete them over time. This procedure is actually very safe and fantastic, and does not cause any damage to the surrounding nerves, muscles, and skin. Patients can even combine their coolsculpting treatment over time with other procedures such as buttock augmentation for an amazing silhouette.

The procedure

During the treatment, your expert surgeon will place a protective gel pad or cream onto the skin, and place the coolsculpting applicator over the area that you wish to be treated. This device draws in the fat bulge, and cools down the internal fat cells, while your surgeon carefully monitors the temperature. Somewhat differently to liposuction, during which cells of fat are suctioned away from the body, the coolsculpting procedure allows the body to eliminate fat cells naturally through use of the lymphatic drainage system. These cells are then slowly excreted by the body over a period of months.

When you receive a coolsculpting treatment, you may expect the treatment of each fat bulge to take approximately one hour. In some cases, love handles and other stubborn areas can take longer, and it's important to remember that each case is different.

The results

Most patients begin to notice the results of their coolsculpting treatment anywhere as little as three weeks following the procedure. Most of the results will start to appear about two months after the treatment has taken place, and improvement can continue after three months.

In many cases, the skin should be capable of contracting by itself following a coolsculpting treatment. However, it is important to recognize that if the cause of the bulge is loose skin, coolsculpting may not be capable of treating the problem, and another surgical procedure may be required.

Most patients will only need a single treatment with the coolsculpting procedure, however, it is possible to perform repeat treatments after three months have passed if the patient feels that they would like additional reduction of certain fatty deposits.
