To determine which procedure is appropriate, I evaluate each patient's face and neck individually to identify the best rejuvenation method to meet their goals. For minimal aging and skin sagging, I may recommend a shorter scar lift because that may be all the patient needs. The Rapid Recovery Necklift addresses the early signs of aging along the lower face and jowls. It is a good bridge procedure for patients who may have been dissatisfied with the variable effects of skin tightening devices, and are ready for a minimally invasive surgical technique to take them to the next level. My overriding goal is to provide a natural and long - lasting result with a smooth recovery so patients can return to work and normal activities looking like themselves, only refreshed and rejuvenated. I often incorporate the use of various tissue sealants to speed the healing process, which can reduce bruising and swelling significantly. In people with more advanced signs of aging and where more work needs to be done in the neck and jawline, I may have to address the deeper tissues by going under the muscle and sliding the layers back into their original youthful position. By lifting under the muscle, this technique can produce a more natural looking lift with longer lasting results. In all cases, special care is taken to hide scars inside the ear so as not to disturb the hairline. Women can wear their hair up with no visible scarring within two weeks after surgery. In many instances, eyelid surgery to reduce fatty deposits and excess skin, and/or endoscopic browlifts may be performed at the same time as face and necklift surgery.
