(HealthNewsDigest.com) - There are many people who experience those unsightly spider veins. These are the tiny veins that are located just under the skin's surface that may be red, blue or purple and are easily visible. While generally not medically dangerous, they are unattractive.

The VeinGogh Ohmic Thermolysis System can treat these spider veins reliably and quickly. While this technique works best for surface veins with sizes up to 0.3 mm, it can be combined with the deeper treating sclerotherapy to treat larger veins.

The VeinGogh Procedure

Candidates for this procedure include healthy adults experiencing those thread-like spider veins known as telangiectasia, who are seeking a quick procedure with no recovery time.

During the procedure, the site will be cleaned. Then a very fine, insulated needle will be inserted just beneath the surface of the skin; however, it will not pierce the blood vessel. Heat is applied through the probe that will collapse the walls of the veins, allowing them to be naturally absorbed by the body. How long the procedure takes depends on the size of the treatment area. Minor lesions can take about a minute, with more extensive areas that cover the majority of the leg can take between 20 to 25 minutes. The procedure will not require any bandages or sutures after completion.

Because the procedure uses micro-needles, there is very little pain associated with the procedure. Many patients report that if feels like a hair being removed. There may be some mild redness; however, it will quickly dissipate. Due to the non-invasive technique, patients can go back to their normal schedules immediately.

Near Immediate Results Will be Experienced

Immediate results will be seen, and continuous improvements will be seen over the next several weeks as the vessels are absorbed by the body. While veins that are properly treated will probably not return; however, new veins may develop that will require treatment. Also, follow up visits are recommend to "touch up" the results.

Most patients will need just one treatment, but if the condition is more severe, additional follow-up procedures may be required.

There is a small risk of scarring; however, it is minimal and is much less that those associated with other, more invasive vein treatments.

If you want to get rid of those ugly spider veins, consult an experience cosmetic surgeon to see if the VeinGogh procedure can help.
