Wheelchair Seat Cushion—a New Cushion that Folds with the Wheelchair

Why are cushions that stay attached to a wheelchair so important? Mary Jo Wagner, co-creator of the Stay-Put Cushion, answers this question. “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found cushions backwards, sideways, upside down, or missing completely,” said Wagner. “The Stay-Put Cushion helps you avoid these problems.”

“Specific seat cushions are so important for patients and nursing home residents, and losing them or not having them on the chair correctly is problematic and can lead to poor outcomes,” added Bretz. “This is a simple and effective way to ensure the cushion stays with the chair at all times—open or folded. It also removes the problem of loss and the cost of unnecessary replacement.”

The new Stay-Put Seat Cushion was designed by clinicians who have specialized in wheelchair cushions and positioning. The Stay-Put features AliMed’s own premier cushions, including foam, T-Foam, Gel, Sit-Straight1, and the AeroCellTM air cushion.
