( - Jim Hu, M.D., M.P.H., was voted in the highest percentile of Top Doctors in the nation according to the annual U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Hu is Associate Professor and Henry E. Singleton Chair in Urology, Director of Minimally Invasive Urology, Co-Director of the UCLA Center for Advanced Surgical and Interventional Technology, and Director of the Urology Procedures Unit at UCLA. His expertise and research in robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery at Harvard Medical School has set the standards to optimize outcomes and quality of life for men with prostate cancer.

He was an Associate Professor of Surgery/Urology at Harvard Medical School, where he served as Director of Urologic Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery and Director of the Minimally Invasive Urologic Oncology fellowship at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. Dr. Hu earned his Bachelor of Science in economics and his Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and his medical doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his surgery and urology residency training at UCLA and a fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic urology at City of Hope National Medical Center.

As a former American Foundation for Urologic Disease scholar, Dr. Hu has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the US Department of Defense, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation. He has focused his academic energies in the translational population sciences in prostate, kidney and bladder cancer. He has lectured extensively in the United States and internationally and is highly regarded as a clinical and didactic teacher. In addition to developing and enhancing UCLA's clinical program in minimally invasive and robotic urologic oncology, Dr. Hu supports the Department's efforts in minimally invasive and robotic intervention in benign

urology. He formalizes and leads the Department's graduate medical education and continuing medical education programs in minimally invasive urology.

Dr. Hu works with an exceptional group of physicians and scientists dedicated to delivering personalized, patient-centered care and innovative treatments to patients and their families with urologic cancer. U.S. News & World Report annual survey ranks UCLA Urology ranks #4 in the nation. Dr. Hu and his team practice at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center ranked #1 in California and top five in the America.
