(HealthNewsDigest.com) - If you've got a soft spot for dogs, America's brave military men and women, and good summer family entertainment, have we got a movie for you!
Opening today, "Max" is the touching story of a heroic military dog who is adopted by the family of his Marine handler after he is killed in Afghanistan. Together, Max and the family help each other heal and then continue to take on the bad guys of the world in this pulse-pounding action film that will appeal to all ages. Released by Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, the film is co-written and directed by Boaz Yakin, and stars Josh Wiggins, Lauren Graham, and Thomas Haden Church. And best of all, "Max" won our top "No Animals Were Harmed®" rating for the safety of all the animals on the set.
While in the movie, Max is brought home to live with his handler's family, in real life not all military dogs are as lucky, and American Humane Association has been working closely with Congress to make sure such heroes are brought back to U.S. soil after their service to our country and reunited with those who care most about them.
This film will help energize millions of Americans to support the cause of our military hero dogs, and brings to dramatic life that special life-saving bond between people and animals that you - and we - cherish so deeply.
So, if you and your family are looking for a great way to beat the heat in the cool confines of a movie theater this weekend, plan on seeing the war dog movie, "Max." I know you will walk away from "Max" with a new-found appreciation for their incredible dedication and valor.
Enjoy the show!
