The conference and exposition will be held Feb. 24-28 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Northrop Grumman's Dr. Anthony Inae, chief of informatics program development for the Military Health System, will present "Enhancing the Capabilities of the Military EHR: A Provider-Perspective Overview of AHLTA 3.3," on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 9:45 a.m. in room 206A. AHLTA is the U.S. Department of Defense's interoperable healthcare information system serving more than nine million beneficiaries. Once AHLTA has been fully implemented, uniformed services members, retirees and their families will have secure access to their healthcare records at anytime, anywhere in the world. In the conference exhibit hall at booth 7343, Northrop Grumman will showcase health information technology solutions for biosurveillence, information exchange, informatics and information security. Northrop Grumman will feature the Global Disease Surveillance Platform (GDSP), which fuses multiple data sources to monitor, detect and provide situation awareness of public health threats. GDSP also allows private and public health organizations to communicate and disseminate critical information for a coordinated and timely response. The platform can be operated from a central or remote location and accessed via a secure website, desktop or a mobile device within a supported collaborative and interactive environment. The success of local, regional or nationwide health information exchange communities and networks relies on secure and seamless access to health information. Northrop Grumman has established health information network services that facilitate electronic health information and its exchange. The company will illustrate how existing electronic health records and regional health information exchange initiatives can be linked to exchange health care information nationwide through sustainable services. Northrop Grumman will demonstrate its work in health-related informatics. For the microbiology and infectious disease community, Northrop Grumman has developed the Biodefense and Public Health Database (BioHealthBase), which provides scientists with an integrated source of complex, high-quality genomic, proteomic, and supporting scientific data in which to contribute, access, process and exchange data during scientific collaboration. The company is also developing an integrated data warehouse and bioinformatics framework for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) under the Bioinformatics Integration Support Contract project, and the corresponding system, the Immunology Database and Access Portal. This scientific data management initiative links genomic, basic scientific and clinical data from various sources to enable scientists to contribute, access and exchange complex, high-quality data sets, and archive data for large NIAID research programs. Northrop Grumman will also feature its work with the Clinical Research Information Exchange (CRIX), led by the U.S. National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute Center for Bioinformatics. CRIX is a collaborative effort among government, industry and academia to implement a common, secure standards-based electronic infrastructure to support the sharing of clinical research data for faster, more efficient development of new drugs.
