Kurland, MD, is a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, Life Fellow of the Pan American Medical Association, and Fellow of the Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine. He served as LCDR, US Navy Medical Corps, and as chief of service, Department of Psychiatry and Neurology, Veterans Administration Research Hospital, Chicago.
