Goldberg says the children of same sex parents can be just as successful in terms of adjustment capabilities and social relationships, and they are academically competitive with their peers from more traditional households. What's more, in statistical terms, these children are identifying similarly to their peers from heterosexual families as both homosexual and heterosexual.
Goldberg is a leading child development expert who has authored more than 20 studies about parenting, stress, and work, especially among diverse families. Her most recent book is Gay Dads: Transitions to Adoptive Fatherhood (New York University, 2012) . She has also studied the school-lives of children of diverse families, including the likelihood of them dealing with bullying.
