Rutgers Launches Senior Care Management Certificate Program

( - NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - In the next two decades, there will be more than 70 million people over the age of 65, according to the United States Census. With the increased senior population and continued changes in the interrelated fields of senior care and healthcare, all senior care professionals must understand the current and anticipated pressures of senior health care management.

Rutgers Executive and Professional Education, in partnership with Leading Age New Jersey and the New Jersey Hospital Association, are pleased to announce today a new Master's Certificate: Senior Care Management program to help professionals navigate today's rapidly changing senior health care environment.

"Today's senior care leaders need a keen understanding of strategy and finance in order to maintain current expertise and knowledge of senior care services," says Dr. Claudia Meer, managing director of Rutgers Executive and Professional Education. "Our program is a much needed roadmap for survival and success in the field of senior care. Executives will gain insight into managing people, processes, and organizations."

The Rutgers Master's Certificate: Senior Care Management program provides the skills, tools and information that senior care professionals need to advance their career. Participants will acquire a new vision of senior care management focused around patient outcomes and experiences. Students will learn about the senior care marketplace, business strategies in non-profit institutions, and the use of information technology in senior care. The program's faculty combines the expertise of recognized leaders in health care and senior care with the acumen of strong academic professionals. The program is highly interactive and taught using focused learning experiences and relevant case studies that address a wide range of topics that are relevant to today's health care professionals.
