(HealthNewsDigest.com) - Before you lay your foundation, make sure your skin is primed and ready for color. Just like you prime your walls before applying a coat of paint, using a primer makes the paint cover better and the whole look is smoother. The same theory works on your skin. Primers can also act as mattifiers to block excess oil from breaking down your color foundation so it wears better. A good primer also makes your foundation last longer so you won’t need to reapply as often to maintain good coverage. Primers can be a helpful tool for concealing enlarged or open pores. You can use a primer instead of moisturizer for oily skin, and on top of moisturizer for dry skin. Look for a primer with an SPF for even more added benefits. Another tip is to stick your primer in the fridge to cool before applying – perfect for inflammation and puffy eyes and swelling or bumps.
